Governor Newson signed California AB-962: Returnable Beverage Containers into law on October 5, 2021.
This bill, of which Conscious Container was the catalyst behind its creation, enables redemption refillable containers to circulate for washing instead of being crushed.
Now, rather than bottles being crushed for recycling, the bottles can be preserved to be WASHED and REFILLED by beverage producers—simultaneously creating jobs and reducing waste.
